My passion for meteorology and atmospheric interactions

The passion for meteorology and atmospheric contexts has accompanied me since my youth, when I started glider flying and also continued to run through my professional life. By studying and graduating in meteorology, I gained experience in international, scientific work and later, as a specialist in the field of wind energy, optimized the economic, project-related applications from the meteorological side.

As part of my actual work, I could integrate  both LiDAR (Light Detection and Ranging) measurements and CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics) flow simulations as new departments within Site Assessment Groups. In the field of wind measurement, I have experience with most common devices on the market and was able to establish the LiDAR measurement concept and fleet management as a supplement to normal measuring masts to operational standards. Especially for complex sites, I can provide flow modeling with CFD software for extended wind field investigations and optimize it for interfaces to normal micrositing with WindPro / WAsP. In addition, my work also routinely includes the processing of complete wind and yield forecasts as well as the discussion and coordination with experts , investors and consultants at home and abroad.

Many years of experience have shown me that meteorological expertise in wind farm development can bring a significant added value to the project, but in many companies this point is not really integrated within the normal project development, but comes to fruition in the final accredited report. At this point, I would like to start as a freelance meteorologist with my knowledge and experience to provide the necessary services to support my customers in various stages of project development with the required expertise.
